“And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 36:26
I. God covers the heart in his tears rinsing it in salt and mucus gently wiping away any grime that clings. II. He breaks it open, bashing the calcified, fibrous core with a hammer. Beauty glows in the ashy pile. III. Pouring the microscopic miracle dust in the mortar, he grips the pestle to crush minerals into molecules. IV. He sifts it gently, the shattered bits sparkling as mundane becomes miracle; dust arranging into muscle. V. Then the heart waits to be flung into time to matter with a pounding pulse and a name.
That last stanza gave this such an unexpected twist.
